SPAZZOID RECORDS THIRD 12" RELEASE! "The funk is always here!"
MAY 2008
All songs
recorded at Spazzoid Studio by Reeno.

Side A
"FUNKULATION"
This instrumental features perhaps the funkiest
bassline ever to come out of NYC's Spazzoid Studio.
With it's light and airy rhodes chords and a seriously
wicked jazz guitar solo played by Udi Levy, this one
is destined to be another Spazzoid classic.
"HALFMOON"
is one of those dreamy, funked-out electro tracks that leaves you in the ultimate state of funk euphoria. Clocking in at well under 3 minutes,
this "short but sweet" instrumental has a unique plethora of dreamy synth textures weaving in and out of the mix, while the synth solo (played by Reeno, in one of his first ever recorded solos)--truly hits the spot in more ways than one.
"WHAT PLANET ARE U FROM?"
is a quirky joyride into the
realms of "interplanetary funksmanship" courtesy of
Reeno's synth work, Gwen Mann's beautifully sung hook,
David Easton's amazing synth solos, and Mitch Endick's
wailing jazzy sax stylings!
Reeno asks his listener whether or not he or she is
funky enough to "enter" this Planet Funk which Reeno
is the creator and "ruler" of. This song is a nod to George Clinton& Parliament/Funkadelic.
Note: Keep a sharp ear out for Sir Paul McCartney in a
wonderful cameo appearance!!!
Side B
"SO FUNKY"
is an uptempo electrofunk killer,
with a
touch of Klein + MBO in it's vibe. The main synth
line harkens back to the days of Kraftwerk, while
segueing wonderfully into sections of boogie with an
electro twist.
This one is not for the lightweight electro fans.
Closing out the 12" is a marvelous cover of Kool & The Gang's seminal 1974 track,
"SUMMER MADNESS".
This is not a remix, or a sample
of the original
version in any way!
It is a bonafide remake done from
scratch, while staying true to the original vibe and
feel of the 70's classic.
Setting it's mood with a phat 808 drum pattern, and
soaring mood synth lines, David Easton caresses the
listener with a wonderfully melodic and tasteful piano
solo, before his moog solo later in the song
absolutely stuns us with it's undeniable presence.
This is a strictly limited-edition 12".
